Perfect Love
The Bible speaks to PERFECT LOVE and it says in 1 John 4:8 that “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” So, perfect love is the love that comes from God and is demonstrated through His actions toward us.
The Bible also teaches that perfect love casts out fear. In 1 John 4:18, it says “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” This means that when we experience the perfect love of God, we do not have to fear punishment or rejection, because His love is unconditional and never-ending.
As believers in salvation only by grace, we understand that we cannot earn or deserve God’s love or salvation. It is a free gift that comes from His grace and mercy. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This means that even when we were separated from God by our sin, He loved us enough to send His Son to die for us, so that we could be reconciled to Him.
